About The Artist
Sarah Zobrist | Fine Artist
Born and raised in South Carolina, Sarah Zobrist discovered her love for drawing at a young age. She earned her undergraduate degree in Studio Art in 2004, then worked as a graphic designer in California. A diagnosis of Crohn’s Disease eventually brought her back home to South Carolina, where this life change opened new doors for her art and led her to meet her husband. In 2016, Sarah married Jeremy and relocated to Goodfield, Illinois. Since 2017, she has focused primarily on painting with resin on canvas.
A significant part of her work in this medium is her Shadow Flowers series—custom paintings created in memory of children lost through miscarriage, infant death, or later loss. These pieces were born from Sarah’s own experience with miscarriage and her desire to offer healing and hope to others who share this journey. Sarah’s collections celebrate the beauty of nature. From sweeping landscapes to delicate butterflies—and everything in between—her work invites viewers to explore the deeper meanings woven into the natural world.

Artist Statement
My work centers on themes of transformation, growth, and uncovering deeper beauty beneath the surface. Through spontaneous, layered resin techniques, I explore moments of change and resilience—whether in the fleeting bloom of a peony, the layered memories within landscapes, the transformation of a butterfly, or the hidden treasures inside geodes.
Each collection invites viewers to reflect on life’s unfolding story—the struggles, the strength, and the hope that emerge in every season. I aim to create art that encourages connection, remembrance, and a deeper appreciation for the grace found in every phase of life.
